IDEAL KITCHEN AND BATH
IDEAL Industries, Inc. has been a family owned business since 1954. Alfred H. Jennings was founder and president of the company until his death in 1988. In 1962, Al built the current facility that IDEAL still resides in. At that time there were very few businesses in the area and Gude Drive was a gravel road leading to nowhere. But Al had a vision and he kept many people employed throughout his life. Currently IDEAL Industries, Inc. remains in the Jennings family with son-in-law Larry Laura as President. All the current employees were hired and trained by Al Jennings. They all knew Al very well and know his vision and continue to this day to keep his business thriving.
Since 1954 IDEAL has installed laminate countertops in over ten thousand homes, condos and apartments in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Countertops have been the lifeblood of IDEAL through all our years in business. Laminate brand names include Formica, Wilsonart and Nevamar, to name a few, and are one of the most used and affordable countertop materials in America. IDEAL continues to this day, to supply not only countertops but laminated cabinets, reception areas, desks and custom designed laminated products.
As the years continued, custom laminated cabinets were included in IDEAL's scope of work. As stock cabinets came into the market, IDEAL was one of the first in the area to change with the times and supply local homeowners, contractors and builders with products they needed to complete their work. IDEAL's stock line of Merillat cabinets and KraftMaid semi custom cabinets have both become the largest manufacturer of cabinets in the United States.
IDEAL took the initiative to become the first area distributor of CORIAN by DuPont. IDEAL is now a DuPont Certified CORIAN Fabricator.
Through the years IDEAL Industries, Inc. took on the new name of IDEAL Kitchen and Bath. IDEAL Kitchen and Bath describes who we are and what we do in a more concise way. We are known throughout the industry by both names.
IDEAL has a wonderful showroom displaying many of the products that we sell, along with showing our design, decorating, installation and fabrication capabilities.
