WHO ARE THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE NAME?
Larry J. Laura
Larry has an extensive background in the construction industry, beginning in high school as a brick layer's helper. From helper to brick layer to property manager, Larry went on to work for many years as a property manager at various apartment complexes in the area. Along with managing the day to day activities, he supervised the renovation process at several of those properties. Larry joined IDEAL at the request of his father-in-law and founder of IDEAL Industries, Inc., Al Jennings.
Since joining IDEAL and bringing his extensive experience and background, Larry supervises the shop employees, manages the shop and installation schedules, makes on-site measurements, prepares bids, orders material, makes deliveries and is always willing to fill-in wherever there is a need. Larry assumes responsibility for the day to day operations at IDEAL, so that the daily business and unexpected occurrences are handled in a professional and effective manner.
Larry, his wife Robin and three children live in Rockville and have been active in this community for many years.
Bob Mader
Bob began his career with IDEAL when he was in college and has worked in various capacities at IDEAL since 1973. He began in the shop as a laminate specialist and with his woodworking skills went on to become IDEAL's cabinet maker. Bob was promoted to shop foreman and later became inside sales person. With Bob's expertise and attention to detail, he is responsible for most of the retail sales including measuring, bidding and preparing proposals.
Bob and his wife Aelese live in Germantown and are lifelong residents of Montgomery County, MD.
Bobby Madert
Bobby installs and/or supervises all the kitchen and bath installs at IDEAL. Bobby comes from an extensive remodeling and jack-of-all trades background. His positive attitude and creative abilities make him a joy to have in your home during the disruption of your daily routine.
Bobby and his wife Patty have three children and live near Frederick. They are both long time residents of Maryland.
Jan McQueen
Jan began working part-time at IDEAL in 1984. Two weeks after moving from Michigan, she called IDEAL one morning at 7 am. Al Jennings took the call (unusual because the staff had not arrived yet). Jan had experience selling Merillat cabinets in Michigan and asked Al if he was interested in hiring someone with her background. Al invited her to come for an interview that morning and after speaking with Al and the staff, she was hired. It would be two weeks before she began working, as IDEAL had to turn a closet into her office.
Through the years, Jan has grown with the company and her responsibilities include: showroom sales, estimating, bookkeeping, updating the showroom displays and products.
Jan lives in Gaithersburg and has two adult sons.
